If there is one thing you can count on in Colorado, it’s that squirrels are going to be a part of your life. Whether you live in a neighborhood with lots of trees, or you live in a new area, squirrels are always close. If squirrels are entering your home, often they will be heard in the attic, and sometimes even in the walls. If you have squirrels in your house, it is important to call a squirrel removal expert immediately to get them out and keep them out. Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Specialists work to humanely remove the squirrel(s) from your home, and make sure this is the last time they get in.
Like other animals, squirrels typically like to live around where there is a good food source. If your property has good sources of food near, then the only other thing needed for your home to be a great place for a squirrel is a way in. That’s where we come in. Squirrels enter the home through a variety of places:
- soffit ends
- eave return
- attic roof vents
- holes around the gutter/roof edge
- sewer roof vents (if you’re really unlucky)
From these locations, the squirrels can, and will, travel throughout the attic and soffits, and potentially through the walls causing damage to electrical lines and creating other health concerns. The goal of Blue Tick Pest Control is to secure these areas so that no other squirrel can make entry into these or other areas of the home.

WHAT DAMAGE CAN A SQUIREL CAUSE IN MY HOUSE?
Squirrels are rodents, one of their traits is front teeth that keep growing and need to be kept in check by the squirrel. One of the most damaging aspects of this is that squirrels in the attic can choose to gnaw on electrical lines and joists/studs. Although gnawing on wood is not great for esthetics, gnawing on electrical lines can create an electrical fire hazard. Inspections completed by Blue Tick Inspectors include visual site inspections of electrical lines in attic spaces where squirrels are present to help homeowners in making the correct decision as to the best corrective action after that of getting the squirrel(s) out and keeping it out.
Squirrels can carry the flea that carries the Bubonic Plague.
Squirrels do not have a breeding season and can give birth year-round to offspring.
